There are sooooooooooo many reasons why Handmade Soap is far superior and so much better for your skin than the stuff you find in the supermarket.

Commercial soap that you find in the supermarket is very drying and even irritating on the skin, this is mainly because in the process of making it, they remove all of the glycerine that is formed naturally when soap is made. They then use this in other products. The problem with this is, it’s the glycerine that actually attracts the moisture to your skin, its acts as a humectant, so without it your skin is left feeling dry and irritated, and you then need to use other products like lotions to actually moisturise your skin. An unnecessary and problematic process.

They also use a vast amount of nasty chemicals such as SLS and SLES (Sodium Laurel/Laureth Sulphate), Parabens, Petrochemicals, Sulphates and Mineral Oils. Its actually quite scary to look up some of the ingredients listed on the packaging and find out what it really is and what problems it can cause. Many of these can be very irritating and drying on the skin, stripping it of its natural oils.

We hand mix each individual batch, and let our soap slowly cure for 5 weeks, ensuring all the essential nutrients from the oils are retained, producing a far superior and far more moisturizing bar of soap.
